Weathering & Detailing

Weathering, if done well, is one of the easiest ways to improve the realism of a model. After all, full-sized trains, especially freight equipment, seldom stays clean for long. Even something as simple as painting shiny metal wheels a brown color can be a huge improvement.

In HO Weathering & Detailing Volume 2, TSG Multimedia's Dan Cortopassi takes you through several weathering projects from start to finish, illustrating a variety of weathering techniques. Dan also shows how he added additional details, paint, and decals to make his models even more realistic.

Chances are the cars in the video may not be exactly like yours, but the techniques can be used on just about any type of rolling stock, even in other scales!
