Caltrain 2005

Our First Rail Video

Caltrain 2005 was our very first rail video project, and we are proud of how it turned out. We shot close to 18 hours of raw footage, then spent considerable time picking out the very best shots and editing the video down to its 90 minute run time. We also did extensive research and consulted with several local experts to make sure our facts were correct, resulting in a concise and informative narrative.

While primarily intended for railfans, there is enough information in this video to appeal to anyone with an interest in trains, rail travel, public transit, or the history of the San Francisco Peninsula.

Accolades

Caltrain 2005 has received praise from local press and the folks at Caltrain. An article about the video appeared in the Fall 2005 Caltrain Connection newsletter, and another very complimentary review appeared in the November/December 2005 issue of Whistlestop Magazine, a publication circulated on the San Francisco Peninsula.

"I don't know how John and Daniel did it, but they have accomplished with rail video what Lucius Beebe and C.M. Clegg did with rail photography - they made trains look alive and, well, sexy." Johanna Friesen Whistlestop Magazine
